If you have five days to relax check out the 91 miles section of the Suwannee River. Start at White Springs and paddle to the town of Branford. Sean Fitzgibbon and I did this trek December of 2009. We feel it is one of the most scenic and uncrowded part of the river as well as being the best part of the Suwannee River Wilderness Paddling Trail. About every 15 to 20 miles they have a river camp. I also canoed this same stretch in April 2011 and July 2008. I am hoping that I can share this river experience with the scouts next spring.

246 miles of beauty
The Suwannee River is a 246 mile long black water river beginning in southern Georgia and flowing through northern Florida ending in the Gulf of Mexico.
Plan your Expedition
This picture is the route you could take to enjoy a refreshing time on the river.

An expedition is a journey or excursion undertaken for a specific purpose. There is no distance or time restriction to an expedition. So, one could argue that a day-paddle or day-hike could be an expedition if it was undertaken for a specific purpose.
In the past
I had only focused on kayaking in Florida. That was the purpose of the Liquid Rhythm Kayaking website. There is a lot of information for you to check out. Follow the following link to read the archives about Sean’s and my journey on the Suwannee River in 2009 LINK
